The role: The Legislative Services Clerk provides high-level administrative and technical support of a complex and confidential nature for the varied functions of the Legislative Services Department. The work includes acting as Clerk for various Advisory Committees, supporting and assisting with records management, privacy and freedom of information, corporate agreements, and administrative processing for appointments, bylaws and general election support.
Qualifications & Experience
Our ideal candidate will have:

Education:

Grade 12 or equivalent
Two (2) year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in business, office or public administration, records management, legal studies or related field; OR
An assessable equivalent in education, training and experience including a one (1) year certificate in business, office or public administration, records management, legal studies or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution and additional training in two (2) or more following areas:

Experience:

School District 72 is looking for a Temporary Bus Driver (Courier) to join our team of professionals. This position provides transportation services for students travelling from Sayward to Campbell River in the morning and Campbell River to Sayward in the afternoon and conducts courier services during the day between routes.

School District 72 (Campbell River) is located on the east coast of central Vancouver Island, extending north to Sayward and south to Oyster River. The district also includes the outer islands of Read, Cortes, and Quadra. The district serves over 5,600 students in 18 schools with a diverse range of programs that are progressive and responsive to the educational needs and interests of students.

About the Role:
The Bus Driver (Courier) position will operate a school bus in accordance with the BC Motor Vehicle Act Regulations and School District Policy, to transport students and staff within the district, and on field trips. This is a split shift 8-hour driving position, part a.m. and part p.m., and will include school deliveries and other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor and/or School Administrator. This position supports the Sayward to Campbell River route.

Specific Responsibilities
· Carries out all aspects of bus driving work.
· Provides a suitable safe environment for students on the bus.
· Ensures the vehicle is maintained in safe condition.
· Practices good driving habits and defensive driving at all times.
· Directs and monitors students to ensure compliance with safe loading, riding and unloading procedures, particularly for those with special needs or prone to violent behaviour.
· Advises parents, teachers and school administrators regarding student behavior and discipline.
· Maintains a positive working relationship with school administration, parents, staff, and students.

· Responsible for cleaning and minor maintenance of buses.
· Assists skilled mechanics and completes general related duties.
· Works from oral and/or written instruction and to established procedures including but not limited to the SD72 School Bus Driver’s Manual.
· Participates in continued professional development opportunities as offered by SD72.
· Other related duties as assigned.

About the Role:

The Active Living Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, implementing, and evaluating programs, as well as facilitation of programs and events on a regular basis.

- Full-time, Tuesday – Saturday, 9:00am-5:00pm, for a total of 37.5 hours weekly.
