The Workplace Culture Instructor brings lived experience as a newcomer who has successfully navigated Canadian workplace culture. The role is also open to a person who has worked internationally and has lived experienced outside Canada. The person supports learners by sharing real-world experiences, insights, and practical strategies in a way that feels familiar, relatable, and authentic.
Rather than teaching formal language lessons, the instructor focuses on helping learners understand the unwritten rules of Canadian workplaces and feel more confident navigating workplace relationships, expectations, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
• Share lived experience of integrating into Canadian workplaces as a newcomer
• Facilitate conversations about:

oo Communication styles and cultural differences
oo Teamwork, hierarchy, and professionalism

This program uses a co-instructor model. The Workplace Language Instructor focuses on language skill development, while the Workplace Culture Instructor provides lived experience and cultural context. Together, they support learners to build confidence, communication skills, and understanding of Canadian workplace culture.

• Comfortable speaking in front of groups and facilitating discussion

Role Summary
The Workplace Language Instructor delivers practical English language instruction focused on communication skills needed in Canadian workplaces. This role supports learners to build confidence using English at work through discussion, role-play, guided practice, and real-world scenarios.
The instructor works closely with a Workplace Culture Co-Instructor (Lived Experience Facilitator) to ensure learning is practical, relevant, and connected to authentic workplace experiences.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and facilitate engaging workplace-focused English lessons
• Teach functional workplace communication skills, including:
oo speaking clearly and appropriately at work
oo listening and responding in workplace situations
oo workplace vocabulary and tone

• Work alongside the Superintendent and/or Foreman to strategize and provide survey data and layout for crews to complete project work effectively and efficiently.
• Calculate the layout of all project components using the drawings, specifications and submissions provided.

This position provides transportation services for students travelling from Sayward to Campbell River in the morning and Campbell River to Sayward in the afternoon and conducts courier services during the day between routes.
School District 72 (Campbell River) is located on the east coast of central Vancouver Island, extending north to Sayward and south to Oyster River. About the Role:
The Bus Driver (Courier) position will operate a school bus in accordance with the BC Motor Vehicle Act Regulations and School District Policy, to transport students and staff within the district, and on field trips. This is a split shift 8-hour driving position, part a.m. and part p.m., and will include school deliveries and other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor and/or School Administrator. This position supports the Sayward to Campbell River route.
Specific Responsibilities
· Carries out all aspects of bus driving work.
· Provides a suitable safe environment for students on the bus.
· Ensures the vehicle is maintained in safe condition.
· Practices good driving habits and defensive driving at all times.
· Directs and monitors students to ensure compliance with safe loading, riding and unloading procedures, particularly for those with special needs or prone to violent behaviour.
· Advises parents, teachers and school administrators regarding student behavior and discipline.
· Maintains a positive working relationship with school administration, parents, staff, and students.
· Responsible for cleaning and minor maintenance of buses.
· Assists skilled mechanics and completes general related duties.
· Works from oral and/or written instruction and to established procedures including but not limited to the SD72 School Bus Driver’s Manual.
· Participates in continued professional development opportunities as offered by SD72.
· Other related duties as assigned.
