We are seeking an Indigenous Support Worker to support Indigenous clients experiencing substance use and mental health challenges through advocacy, life-skills coaching, and culturally grounded care Key Responsibilities: • Provide life skills training, coaching, and advocacy • Support clients with daily living activities, independence, and self-sufficiency • Practice from a harm reduction and trauma-informed approach • Incorporate Indigenous health approaches, cultural knowledge, and protocols • Assist clients in accessing housing, income supports, and community resources • Observe and support medication management and wellness plans • Respond to crisis or emergency situations following established care plans • Accompany clients to appointments, programs, and community activities • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to care planning
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications: • Preference will be given to applicants of First Nations, Métis, or Inuit heritage. • Diploma in Community Social Services, Mental Health Worker, Community Health Worker, or related field • 2+ years’ experience working with Indigenous communities and resources • Strong understanding of Indigenous health issues, cultural safety, and community-based care • Knowledge of harm reduction practices, HIV/HCV, and related supports • Ability to build trust and provide trauma-informed, culturally safe care • Current Level C Basic Life Saving Certificate • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
