The North Island Crisis and Counselling Centre Society is seeking individual to fill a permanent full-time position (30 hrs/week) in our Supported Child Development Program. The ideal applicant will enjoy and be comfortable working with children of all ages in a variety of settings including child care centres and community programs. Individuals must be able to establish trust-based relationships and interact in a calm, respectful, responsive and reciprocal manner with children, parents and other child care providers, ensuring the child’s individual care and diverse needs are met.
In this role you may support children in various settings such as daycare, preschool, after school programs and may involve travel between different locations. In a Supported Child Development role, you will work towards established goals within the context of the child’s daily routine, supporting both the child and the child care program.
Terms of Employment
• Clean criminal record check is required
• Valid Driver’s License & Vehicle in good running condition
• 30 hours per week

Qualifications & Experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Responsible adult – age 19 or older
• Willing to learn and take direction
• ECE, Community Care or EA Certificate is required
• Specific training in child development, or early intervention principles and techniques is preferred
• Experience working with children with diverse needs is an asset.
