About NICSS: North Island Community Services Society (NICSS) is a non-profit and registered charity established in 1978. For over 40 years, NICSS has delivered a wide range of community-based programs throughout the North Island region. With more than 30 staff members operating 15 programs, as well as numerous special projects and community events, NICSS plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families across the Regional District of Mount Waddington. Position Summary: NICSS is seeking a caring, enthusiastic StrongStart Facilitator to establish and deliver early learning programming for children under the age of five and their parents/caregivers in Port Alice. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Facilitator will create engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate programming, while ensuring compliance with NICSS, School District, and licensing requirements. Position: Strong Start Facilitator Status: Part-Time (Temporary Maternity Leave Coverage – Potential for Future NICSS Opportunities) Hours: 10.5 hours per week Wage: $22.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on ECE certification (preference given to ECE certified candidates) Location: Port Alice, BC Key Responsibilities •Program Delivery: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children and families. •Client & Family Support: Provide guidance, encouragement, and a supportive environment for children and caregivers. •Program Environment & Maintenance: Maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating learning environment. •Administrative Responsibilities: Complete program documentation, reports, and communication as required. Qualifications & Experience
