Dockhand and Fish Processor: Your West Coast Adventure Awaits!
Come join our dynamic and adventurous team at Nootka Marine Adventures. If you love the remote outdoors and delighting customers, this position may be for you!
We are dedicated to preserving the timeless art of sport fishing while nurturing the next generation of anglers. Our mission is to provide an unparalleled luxury fishing experience that not only immerses our guests in the natural beauty of our surroundings but also instills a deep appreciation for fishing and the environment.
This full-time position has a contract length from mid-June to mid-September.
Duties for Fish Processor:
- Read and fully understand DFO Area 25/125 fishing regulations, boundaries, and species, size, and quantity limits.
- Fillet salmon, rock fish, ling cod, halibut, and other species as required and in accordance with food safety standards.
- Vacuum pack and properly label filleted fish before freezing.
- Clean and maintain the entire fish processing facility as scheduled or required and in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a high level of organization in terms of guest information, fish tracking, arrivals and departures, and the facility itself.
- Take payments and complete daily cash outs.
Duties of Dockhand:
- Ensuring all rental boats have required safety equipment and read to go fishing gear.
- Moving rental boats between fuel dock and parking slips.
- Assisting guests with fueling and safety orientations.
- Greeting guests and helping them carry personal belongings.

- Experience with cleaning, cutting, and processing fish.
- Computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to stay organized.
- Basic numeracy and cash handling experience.
- Food Safe Level 1.
- Ability to life 50 pounds.

- Excellent customer service skills.
- Outgoing and have a warm manner with guests.
- Familiar with west coast saltwater fishing and marine operations.
- Knowledge of fishing tackle.
- Some cash handling experience.
- PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card).
