Island Health is seeking a dedicated Protection Services Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment across healthcare facilities. This role supports the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and property through security services, effective communication, and adherence to established policies and procedures. Two full-time positions @ Port Hardy Hospital and temp pt @ Port McNeill Hospital
Key Responsibilities:
•Maintain safety and security of patients, visitors, staff, and property.
•Monitor and respond to security concerns and incidents.
•Enforce established security policies and procedures.
•Communicate effectively and support a respectful healthcare environment.
Qualifications & Experience
•Grade 12 education or equivalent.
•Recognized Basic and Advanced Security Training (BST/AST).
•Valid BC Security Worker Licence with applicable handcuff endorsement.
•Intermediate First Aid (formerly OFA Level 2).
•One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
•Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
•Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
