THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you a certified trades person looking to join a “best in class” maintenance team? Western Forest Products is hiring for a Millwright to join our Ladysmith Sawmill Operation located in Ladysmith, BC.
What We Offer:
•Wage rate of $47.69/hour as per the collective agreement
•Hourly premiums of $0.60/hour on shifts that are outside the recognized day shift
•A safe work environment
Shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00am to 4:30pm.
This position is considered safety sensitive, all successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug test.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Repairing or replacing mechanical components & machinery;
•Rigging and slinging;
•Troubleshooting mechanical machinery;
•Welding repairs;
•Hot work and lock out protocols;
•Knowledge of hydraulic systems;
•Performing other preventative maintenance processes that pertain to optimum mechanical performance of our facility.
Qualifications & Experience
QUALIFICATIONS
•Candidates must be Red Seal Certified or hold valid BC or Alberta Journeyperson Millwright Certification;
•Preference will be given to those with sawmill experience;
•Excellent safety record and strong work ethic;
•Highly motivated team player with excellent time management skills;
•Creative and innovating thinking, logical problem solving, and a desire to participate in an organization committed to continuous improvement;
•Accountable and dependable.
