Mowi is the world’s leading producer of farmed salmon and our Port Hardy Processing Plant is the most technically advanced fresh salmon processor in BC. Our Northern Vancouver Island location offers great outdoor and marine recreational activities, as well as excellent sports facilities and cultural, social and commercial amenities. The processing plant operates year-round and we are currently looking for team oriented, dynamic individuals to join the Mowi Canada West team at the Port Hardy Processing Plant. These are primarily day shift positions but other shifts may be scheduled to meet plant requirements.
Responsibilities:
•Repair, troubleshooting and installation of machinery including salmon processing, ice making, ice delivery and packaging equipment. Experience with automated equipment would be ideal.
•Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment.
•Optimize equipment safely, efficiently and reliably participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules.
•Experience with waste water systems would be an asset.
•Preventative maintenance and servicing high-speed packaging and processing equipment.
•Work on other projects as required.
•Be self-starting and reliable dealing with a wide range of people in all levels of the building/sub- contracting industry.
•Work with other trades, and sometimes contractors, in a flexible team environment to achieve greater efficiencies and productivity.
•Assist the operations team in the efficient operation of the processing equipment

Qualifications & Experience
•Hold Red Seal Certification as an Electrician – 4th year apprentice may be considered.
•Working knowledge of WorkSafe BC and Technical Safety BC regulations, codes and standards.
•Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to plan, install, and commission new equipment.
•Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and manuals.
•Hands-on experience in electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
•Good working knowledge of current electrical Standards and Regulations.
•Experience with PLCs, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
•Ability to read mechanical and piping schematics.
•Experience with networking.
•Strong computer skills.
•Experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment, preferably in the food industry, would be an asset.
