Looking for a meaningful career protecting workers' hearing health? We are seeking a certified Industrial Audiometric Technician (IAT) to conduct onsite hearing tests for noise-exposed workers across Vancouver Island and BC.
This part-time role has the potential to grow into full-time and offers independence, travel, and strong team support.
Key Responsibilities
• Independently manage onsite testing schedules and rescheduling as needed
• Address additional testing requests
• Diagnose and resolve vehicle and mobile test unit issues
• Serve as the front-facing ambassador of the NexGen Hearing brand
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
• Ensure all testing is completed before departing a site
• Book accommodations within budget when required
• Track and document mileage for the mobile testing unit
• Drive and operate a 5-ton van and trailer unit (approx. 47 ft total length)
• Inspect vehicle condition (fuel levels, tire wear, basic maintenance needs)
• Monitor and troubleshoot testing equipment and electronics
• Complete all required paperwork and data entry through the WSBC portal
Working Conditions
• Combination of sitting and standing in mobile testing unit
• Independent work in quiet testing environments
• Variable temperatures (units equipped with heating and A/C)
• Extensive travel across BC, with a primary focus on Vancouver Island
• Flexible 24-hour scheduling to accommodate day, afternoon, and night shifts
• Occasional weekend work and overnight stays
• Travel to remote camps, potentially including helicopter or boat access

Qualifications & Experience
Education & Training
• Completion of the Industrial Audiometric Technician course through BCIT (OCHS 3330) (asset if already posses but needs to be willing to take the 4 day course on the mainland)
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to safely drive and park a 5-ton van and trailer unit
Experience
• Customer service experience preferred
• Experience with automated audiometers an asset
• Understanding of WSBC testing and interpretation protocols an asset
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills
