Company Description: The City of Campbell River is searching for Instructor Leaders to join our Recreation and Culture Team in this short term auxiliary position. Naturally, Campbell River – Located on Vancouver Island, the City of Campbell River offers a rare combination of a welcoming small-town feel with large-city amenities. We are a 45-minute drive from the winter and summer activities of Mount Washington, and just minutes from more than 100 km of all levels of mountain biking and hiking trails, plus easy access to the ocean, rivers and lakes for sports fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and whale watching. The role: As an Instructor Leader, you will be working as part of a team, and will facilitate, lead, support and participate in a range of activities and events for young children (5 & under), children (6-11yrs) and/or youth (12-18yrs) in our summer camp programs. You will ensure the safety and care of all participants, and promote an inclusive, welcoming environment. It is a great opportunity to learn new skills. What we offer: The rate of pay for this short term auxiliary CUPE bargaining unit position is $24.97 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of benefits (this is equivalent to a wage of $27.96 per hour).
