Details
We are currently searching for an Infant Development Consultant to join our well-established Early Years team. Successful candidates will be able to plan, organize and deliver Infant Development home-based services supporting families caring for children ages 0 to 6 years of age to reach their developmental milestones. Service includes providing direct early intervention strategies through play, assessment and playgroups. The IDP consultant will also provide parent education, parent support and assist families with accessing appropriate community and community based early childhood intervention services. The position is permanent and part time at 30 hours per week. Travel throughout the North Island will be required. Must have Driver's License and reliable vehicle for this role. Salary and Benefits: $29.00/hour After a successful 3 month probation period, an excellent benefit package is also provided including extended health and dental plan, 3 week vacation, sick benefits and employer paid RRSP.
Qualifications & Experience
EDUCATION: • Early Childhood Education Certification and/or Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood or Child & Youth Care. A combination of experience and education will be considered. • Specific training in child development, early intervention principles and ASQ assessment is preferred. • 3-5 years’ experience working with young children and/or families who have children with special support needs or developmental delays. • A clear criminal record search and a valid Driver’s License is required for this role. ABILITIES/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: • Experience in providing in-home based client service. • Strong and demonstrated knowledge in early childhood development. • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with others. • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail. • Emotional maturity and high level of professionalism. • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently. • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of client service and response. • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including client documentation. • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions. • Strong knowledge of community-based resources and early intervention strategies.
