About Us: At Tech Electrical Overhead Crane, we specialize in the installation, maintenance, and repair of lifting and hoisting equipment across Vancouver Island. With a focus on safety, reliability, and quality service, we serve a wide range of industrial clients throughout the region. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Overhead Crane Technician to join our growing team. Position Summary: As an Overhead Crane Technician, you’ll be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing overhead cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment. This is a field-based position, involving travel to client sites across Vancouver Island. Key Responsibilities: • Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on overhead cranes and hoists. • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and structural components of lifting systems. • Complete installations of new crane systems or upgrades to existing equipment. • Respond to emergency service calls and perform repairs efficiently and safely. • Prepare service reports, safety documentation, and job completion records. • Ensure compliance with all applicable CSA/ASME standards and provincial regulations. • Maintain a safe and clean work environment on client sites. Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications: Minimum 2–3 years’ experience servicing overhead cranes or similar industrial equipment. • Electrical or Mechanical trade certification preferred (e.g. Red Seal Millwright or Electrician). • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, VFDs, and PLCs is an asset. • Comfortable working at heights and using fall protection. • Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service orientation. • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
