Details
Under the direction of the Manager, you will: • Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for Indigenous clients across community and hospital settings • Act as a liaison between clients, families, healthcare teams, and community agencies • Support culturally safe care, case management, health teaching, and client advocacy • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, committees, and program development initiatives Key Responsibilities: • Develop care and discharge plans in consultation with clients and families • Conduct holistic client assessments (physical, emotional, spiritual, mental) • Advocate for Indigenous clients and communicate with community agencies • Support orientation and education of staff on Indigenous Health services • Collect and maintain data for program monitoring and improvement
Qualifications & Experience
• Preference for Indigenous applicants • Education & Registration: RN/RPN with BC College of Nurses and Midwives • Experience: Minimum 2 years working with Indigenous communities • Knowledge: Community Health & Long-Term Care, Indigenous health and culture, Canadian colonization • Impacts, culturally safe care practices • Skills: Nursing process, multi-disciplinary teamwork, professional judgment, empathy, effective communication, record keeping, and cultural sensitivity •Other Requirements: Valid BC Driver’s License; travel may be required
