The North Island Crisis and Counselling Centre Society is seeking an individual to fill the position of Early Childhood Educator in a 24-space child care centre located in Port McNeill, BC. This position is a permanent full-time position working 35 hours a week.
As an early childhood educator, you will be providing direct care for children 2 to 12 years of age in a caring and responsive centre-based environment. You will be working under the direction of the Centre Manager. Within a family-centered practice model you will assist families in acquiring information about child development and community. You will work in collaboration with families to encourage the child’s development within the context of their daily routines and resources.
Terms of Employment
Full Time, permanent position, 35 hours per week
Clean criminal record check required.
• Salary: $ 25.00/hour + $6.00/hour provincial wage enhancement (fully ECE certified)
• ECE/Assistant applications will be considered. Salary & hiring bonus will be assessed accordingly.
• A hiring bonus of $750.00 for the successful ECE certified candidate with a return of service agreement.
Qualifications & Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Full Provincial Certification in Early Childhood Care and Education; or working towards ECE certification (incentives may be available)
• Other combination of education and experience may be considered
• Supervised experience working with families and children.
