Key Resposibilities
Supervise log sorting, handling, scaling, and inventory activities
Direct unionized crews in line with the collective agreement
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and WorkSafeBC regulations
Coordinate with Woods Supervisors, contractors, and scalers
Maintain production flow and address operational issues
Lead safety meetings and report incidents or near misses
Track and report production, inventory, and crew performance
Support equipment maintenance scheduling
Foster a respectful and professional work environment
Work Conditions
Outdoor work in all weather conditions
On-call availability for operational or safety issues
May be required to coordinate barge loading operations during off-hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on tides

Qualifications & Experience
Seeking Full Time Dryland Sort Supervisor in Gold River, BC.
5+ years in forestry, with 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role (unionized environment preferred)
Strong knowledge of log grades, species, and coastal scaling practices
Proven leadership skills and understanding of collective agreements
Safety-first mindset with environmental awareness
Comfortable around heavy equipment and mobile machinery
Basic computer proficiency (experience with logging/scaling systems an asset)
Valid BC driver’s license
Level 1 First Aid or higher is an asset
