Job Overview:
Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Shop Technician assembles equipment and products according to drawings. They are self-starter and possess a strong work ethic, are organized and accountable to those around them. This position completes various tasks as assigned within a warehouse setting. The Shop Technician uses their experience, knowledge, and skills to perform effectively in accordance to work orders and plans. To be successful in this role, the individual must be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail, organization, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Assemble products according to drawings and desired specs using hand and power tools
• Working with piping, including assembling and welding threaded and grooved pipe, and HDPE pipe welding.
• Operating in and around engines.
• Conducting quality checks, testing, and commissioning of products.
• Operating equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Performing general manufacturing shop tasks related to material handling, cleanup, and tool and machinery operations.
• Collaborating with the team to meet production schedules.
• Ensuring organization and security in stock rooms.
• Participating in periodic inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Undertaking any other duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience
• Experience in fabrication and assembly of manufactured threaded and grooved pipe.
• Knowledge and experience in pipefitting or plumbing would be considered an asset but not required.
• Technical and mechanical aptitude with a keen focus on safety.
• Familiarity with mechanical tools and working in and around engines.
• Valid BC Driver’s License and steel toes boots are essential.
• Previous experience in a similar shop or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Training and certification for forklift operation, First Aid, WHIMIS is an asset, however, we will provide these and any other necessary requirements.
