Summary
K’awat’si Consulting and Management Services (KCMS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Advisor to lead and support economic development initiatives, foster entrepreneurship, and strengthen local businesses in our community. The Business Advisor will work closely with community members, aspiring entrepreneurs, and leadership to provide tailored business support services, conduct market assessments, and develop business plans that help drive long-term economic growth.

Responsibilities
- Economic Development Support:
- Engage with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
- Lead and implement initiatives that promote entrepreneurship within the community.
- Develop comprehensive business plans and strategic reports to support projects and funding applications.
- Support a variety of projects as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Market Assessments:
- Conduct market research and assessments to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the local economy.
- Analyze data to inform strategic decision-making for business development and support initiatives.
Strategic Economic Initiatives:
- Conduct needs assessments to identify economic development priorities, potential sectors for growth (e.g., tourism, cultural arts, agriculture), and opportunities for entrepreneurship.
- Lead or assist in feasibility studies and business plans for potential community-owned businesses or infrastructure investments (e.g., a tourism center, artisan workshops, or renewable energy projects).
- Work collaboratively with leadership, local businesses, and external partners to create a robust network of support for economic initiatives.
- Participate in networking events and job fairs to connect community members with business resources.
Reporting and Evaluation:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of economic development initiatives, providing regular reports to leadership.
- Utilize feedback and data to refine and improve the programs and services offered.

Qualifications & Experience
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economic Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ years of experience in a business consulting or advisory role, or relevant internship experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in research and report writing.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools and data visualization software.
- Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economic Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
