Dockhand: Your West Coast Adventure Awaits!
Come join our dynamic and adventurous team at Nootka Marine Adventures. If you love the remote outdoors and delighting customers, this position may be for you!
We are dedicated to preserving the timeless art of sport fishing while nurturing the next generation of anglers. Our mission is to provide an unparalleled luxury fishing experience that not only immerses our guests in the natural beauty of our surroundings but also instills a deep appreciation for fishing and the environment.
This full-time position has a contract length subject to change based on the demands of the season. Estimated dates: June 29 – September 16. 2025.
Duties of Dockhand:
- Ensuring all rental boats have required safety equipment and read to go fishing gear.
- Moving rental boats between fuel dock and parking slips.
- Assisting guests with fueling and safety orientations.
- Greeting guests and helping them carry personal belongings.

Drive west along one of the most scenic highways in Canada through the spectacular mountainous landscape of Strathcona Park and the village of Gold River towards Tahsis. Approximately 2 hours by road from Campbell River on Vancouver Island is Moutcha Bay Resort, on the waters of Nootka Sound.

Qualifications & Experience
Requirements for Dockhand:
- You have excellent customer service skills.
- You are outgoing and have a warm manner with guests.
- You are familiar with west coast saltwater fishing and marine operations.
- You have knowledge of fishing tackle.
- You have some cash handling experience.
- You have your PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card).
