Job Title: Seasonal Lodge Maintenance

Eagle Creek Lodge

Eagle Creek Lodge is a corporate sport-fishing lodge on Stuart Island, BC, Canada used by PACCAR and its guests for business entertainment. The objective of the lodge is to provide a quality sport fishing experience for PACCAR hosts and their guests that furthers PACCAR’s business objectives.

Eagle Creek Lodge operates from approximately mid-May through September. A normal season may include from 20 to 35 individual two-night trips. A trip typically includes two PACCAR hosts and six of their invited guests for a total of eight people. Primary activity is guided sport fishing provided by expert contracted guides during the day. Other available activities include bocce ball, golf (two short holes), nature walks and area wildlife viewing. Fine dining is provided by an executive chef and host. Guest accommodations are provided in four double rooms. Guest transportation to and from the lodge is provided in a float plane.

Requisition Summary:
Lodge Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Lodge maintenance, infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting, and project assistance while adhering to PACCAR’s quality expectations for service and the facility. The position is a seasonal – approximately 4-5 months.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Facilities & Maintenance:
- Maintain and repair Eagle Creek Lodge facilities including buildings, utilities, grounds, and docks to PACCAR quality expectations.
- Operate and maintain all utility systems including electric power, water, septic, heating systems, fire protection.
- Perform necessary repair and maintenance of the facilities and equipment to keep them in good condition.
- Responsibility for safe operation and maintenance of two boats.
- Perform as an integral member of the Lodge staff team during the summer guest season, and assist Groundskeeper with lawn and road maintenance, landscaping, vegetable garden upkeep, etc.
- Perform as an integral member of the Lodge staff team during the summer guest season, and assist the Lodge Managers/dock staff with processing the guests’ fish.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications:
- Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
- Facility maintenance experience required
- Experience as a groundskeeper, or gardener desired
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to listen and develop positive working relationships.
- Familiarity with computers, phone apps and modern technology for remote monitoring of power system and infrastructure.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed.
- Valid BC driver’s license required
- Qualified and experienced small and crew boat operator with Small Vessel Operator Proficiency training certification.
- Current 1st aid and CPR training required.
- Experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of lodge systems (generators, pumps, kitchen appliances, small boats, piping, electrical, water systems, plumbing, heating systems) required.
- Relates to people in an open, friendly, accepting manner. Ability to work alone or in a team.

Safety:
- Current 1st aid and CPR training required.
- Ensure that safety is foremost in all aspects of the operation for staff and guests.
- SVOP ticket to run the crew boat considered and asset.
