This is a temporary leadership role with the opportunity to transition into an ECE position or permanent employment within our team.
Summary:
Happy Trails is a fully licensed, Group Childcare Centre, for children ages 30 months- 5 years. Our childcare program is designed to provide a fun, safe and child-centered learning environment for young children. We believe that every child is an individual, who deserves to be valued for their strengths, abilities, imagination, and interests. We want children to learn through play and developmentally appropriate activities. We recognize that parents play the most important role in their child’s life and that they deserve the assurance of knowing that their children are in a safe and nurturing environment, that also values the training, skill and commitment of its Early Childhood Educators.
The Ideal Candidate will:
-Create a fun and engaging environment.
-Exude a warm and approachable nature, with the ability to develop trust-based relationships with children and their parents/caregivers.
-Have the ability to adapt and be flexible to meet the needs of the children and the childcare Centre.
-Work as part of a team to develop and support programming and maintain schedules, as well as maintain records relating to childcare.
-Promote age-appropriate learning that fosters social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
-Work with parents and supported childcare or other community service providers to help children progress towards educational and behavioral goals.
-Experienced in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

-Current Early Childhood Educator Certificate (may consider ECE Assistant)
-Strong knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and ability to implement into practice
-Strong knowledge of current BC Child Care Licensing Regulations
-Excellent communication skills; team player and community builder;
-Current first aid certificate;
-Ability to provide a clear criminal record check;
-Understands the importance of scheduling, documentation and room management
-Strong knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and ability to implement into practice
