Details
About this Role:
- Follow all company Health, Safety and Environmental protocols and procedures at all times.
- You be provided training in organizing and carrying core boxes, quality assurance and control
samples, sorting and preparing samples for shipping.
- Collect geotechnical data in compliance with the procedures and standards set out by the
geologist.
- Handle and organize core samples and boxes to maintain the flow of materials into and out
of the Core Cutting and Core Logging facilities.
- Communicate with the geologists to report progress, findings and incidents.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, material inventory and sample packing.
- Maintain and clean equipment within the Core Logging facilities.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
What you bring to the Role:
- Previous experience as a Geotechnical Technician is considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in mineral exploration or assay laboratories would be preferred.
- First Aid training is considered an asset.
- Mechanical knowledge for maintaining tools and machinery around the Core Logging
facilities is an asset, but not required.
- Must be able to wear all PPE including but not limited to steel toe boots, hearing protection,
gloves and eye protection for an extended period of time.
- Able to operate forklifts, side by side and pickup trucks in a safe manner is desirable. Training
will be provided as needed.
- The ability to complete repetitive movements for long periods of time is required
- The ability to be proactive in identifying and mitigating or eliminating any observed potential
hazards in the workplace is required
- The ability to work primarily in a standing position is required.
- The ability to work efficiently with computers and tablets is required.
- Reliable transportation to and from Port Hardy on a daily basis to the Company’s site office is
required. Transportation will be provided to any alternative work sites by the Company.

Education and Skills:
- A high school diploma is considered an asset.
- The ability to work and communicate effectively within a team setting is an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication is desirable.
- The ability lift and carry up to 25 kg (50 lbs) repetitively is required.
- A driver’s license is considered an asset
- A strong outlook for the safety of others and yourself is required.
- The ability to work independently is required, however the site will have other employees
present should assistance be needed.
