THE OPPORTUNITY
Western Forest Products is currently seeking a fully qualified Auto Mechanic to join our Timberlands operations located in Port McNeill, BC.

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract position.

Shifts: This is an 8 hour per day, 5 on 2 off shift, with the opportunity for overtime.

This role is considered safety sensitive, all successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug test.

Qualifications & Experience
Education and Experience
-Must be a fully ticketed Interprovincial Red Seal Automotive Mechanic;
-All applicants must have a valid BC Class 5 driver's license and be able to provide a clean driver's abstract;
-Preference may be given to the applicant holding a valid OFA Level 3 Certificate.

Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies
-Proven safe and conscientious attitude with an excellent safety record;
-Ability to manage a fleet vehicle service program using modern electronic diagnostic tools;
-Proficient in using relevant computer software, maintaining accurate records, and inspecting vehicle hoists;
-Highly developed diagnostic and repair skills are considered an asset;
-Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision;
-Demonstrates a strong work ethic and attention to detail; and,
-Willingness to work flexible shift start times, as required.
