Details
Live In Home Support Worker needed to assist young man in routines and activities in
his home and in the community. Come and join our small, supportive and
professionally run Microboard that has been set up uniquely to meet the individuals
needs.

The individual enjoys participating in leisure activities with others such as cooking,
baking, playing Lego, anything star wars, gardening, crafts and drawing and board
games. He also enjoys watching tv, video games but favourites are attending
hockey games and he enjoys outdoor activities and sports.

Key Responsibilities
Assisting with Daily Living Activities:
• Assist with all routines including personal hygiene
• Meal preparation
• Administer medication
• Providing transportation to day program and activities
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Implementing goals and support plans that are tailored to the individual needs
• Record in daily Communication log
• Participate in activities in the home and in the community with the individual

Staffing:
Shifts will be a 24 hour position with a 3 days on, 4 day off rotation
Shifts typically start at 9 am, but, most Mon.-Fri. You won’t be needed out until 2:30 for
active start time (he already as 1:1 support at day program)
• Caregivers will have their own beds to sleep in the second bedroom (on their shift)
(Individual is a good sleeper)
• Rate of pay is $250/24 hours with Benefits and Training provided
Qualifications & Experience
Special Education would be an asset and preferred and previous experience working with individuals with disabilities would be preferred.

Required:
• First Aid Certification & CPR
• Criminal Record Check for vulnerable individuals
• Valid BC Drivers License
• Driver Abstract and 2 million 3rd party liability insurance

• Willing to learn and use Augmentative Communication (Touch Chat)
• Ability to remain calm and model co-regulation
• Team player - ability to work as a team with other staff, Microboard members,
family and professional team.
• Good sense of humour - enjoy working with individuals and having fun
• Enjoyment of being involved in activities in the home and in community
• Organizational Skills - ability to manage time and tasks effectively
• Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify and address challenges, finding
creative and effective solutions.
