Job Overview:
North Island Mining Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Northisle Copper and Gold Inc. is seeking a Core Cutter to assist in exploration of the North Island Project located 35 Km West of Port Hardy BC. As a Core Cutter, you will play a vital role in Northisle's exploration efforts, handling diamond drill core samples that help uncover valuable mineral resources. Core Cutters will be responsible for cutting core samples to the standards set by the Vice President, Exploration, handling and organizing core boxes and samples, maintaining the Core Cutting and Core Logging facilities and assisting geologicall technicians and geologists with assigned tasks as required.

About this Role:
• Follow all company Health, Safety and Environmental protocols and procedures at all times.
• You be provided training in organizing, carrying core boxes, cutting core, placing cut core, QA/QC samples and assay tags in bags, sorting and preparing samples for shipping.
• Safely cut and sample diamond drill core in compliance with the procedures and standards set out by the geologist.
• Handle and organize core samples and boxes to maintain the flow of materials into and out of the Core Cutting and Core Logging facilities.
• Communicate with the geologists to report progress, findings and incidents.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, material inventory and sample packing.
• Maintain and clean equipment within the Core Cutting and Core Logging facilities.
• Complete all other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
What you bring to the Role:
• Previous experience cutting core is considered an asset.
• First Aid training is considered an asset.
• Mechanical knowledge for maintaining core saws, waterline and other materials and equipment is considered an asset, but not required.
• The ability to work in loud, wet and dusty environments.
• Must be able to wear all PPE including but not limited to steel toe boots, hearing protections, respirator, gloves, eye protection and waterproof clothing for an extended period of time.
• Able to operate forklifts, side by side and pickup trucks in a safe manner. Training will be provided as needed.
• The ability to complete repetitive movements for long periods of time.
• The ability to be proactive in identifying and mitigating or eliminating any observed potential hazards in the workplace.
• The ability to work primarily in a standing position, as required by the core saws.
• Reliable transportation to and from Port Hardy on a daily basis.

Education and Skills:
• A high school diploma is considered an asset
• The ability to work and communicate effectively within a team setting.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• The ability lift and carry up to 25 kg (50 lbs) repetitively.
• A driver’s license is considered an asset
• A strong outlook for the safety of others and yourself.
• The ability to work independently.
