Seven Hills Golf & Country Club is currently seeking a General Manager
The club is located near Port Hardy B.C. on northern Vancouver Island and is owned and operated by a Society under the direction of an elected Board of Directors. It is a 9 hole public course with driving range, putting green, clubhouse, RV camping and licensed restaurant. The area has a moderate climate with the ability for golf to be played 12 months per year. The Pro Shop and restaurant operates on a seasonal basis, typically April through October.

Job Summary
Working closely with the Board of Directors the General Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the club for the benefit of members and the public.

Duration
March to December (9 months) annually.

Responsibilities

Golf, Facilities and Programs
• Operate the Pro Shop including greeting golfers, accepting bookings, processing rentals, fees and merchandise sales.
• Recruit, train and supervise staff to assist with Pro Shop operations during peak season.
• Work with the Golf Course greenskeepers to ensure best turf care practices are implemented, consistent with the Board’s direction and budgetary guidelines.
• Work with the restaurant contractor to coordinate all clubhouse events.
• Support all club events including member functions and outside tournaments.
• junior program development and coordination.
• RV site promotion and management

Finance
• Contribute to the preparation of the club’s annual budget and monitor actual performance.
• Promote and enforce the directives and policies as set by the Board of Directors.
• Ensure the reconciliation and control of all the Pro Shop income streams.
• Manage the Pro Shop retail operation through use of proper purchasing, inventory control, merchandising, promotion and marketing.
• Ensure supplier invoices and employee timesheets are submitted to the club’s accountant for timely payment.



Communication/Marketing
• Communicate with club members on all appropriate matters using email, the club’s website, and approved social media.
• Promote the club, facilities, restaurant, and programs externally through use of marketing tools, industry relationships and other available means.

Administration
• Manage all aspects of the club’s administration.
• Provide agreed upon status reports to the Board, including analysis and recommendations for improvements to the golf experience and positive financial outcomes for the club.

Qualifications

• Experience leading the day-to-day operations of a financially responsible golf club or equivalent.
• Experience with Tee On POS system and computer competence.
• Exceptional customer service background, including the skills and personality to create a welcoming atmosphere for members and the public.
• Ability to create and maintain an excellent work environment based upon teamwork and mutual respect.
• Background in budget planning, club policies, and a proven ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors.
• Experience in hiring, training and supervising personnel.

Compensation
• up to $2500 biweekly on a seasonal basis (40 weeks per year) based on experience.
• Cell phone plan.
• Playing privileges.
