THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN CAMPBELL RIVER, VANCOUVER ISLAND, BC.

Rivercity Inclusion Society is looking for a part-time Community Support Worker for our Passages Program! The Community Support Worker is responsible for introducing and implementing ideas and activities that allow the participants in the day programs to complete tasks independently and/or with minimal support falling within each person's capabilities. The Community Support Worker is responsible for assisting the participants with their day to day life skills; that may include social, vocational, leisure, health, and fitness.
Qualifications & Experience
Class 4 Drivers license is a necessary requirement of this post. Current First Aid and CPR, negative TB test results, current Criminal Record Check as per society policy, Food Safe Certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention also required. Access to a phone may be required, when out in the community. Human Services Worker Certification or certification in a relevant field preferred. Three-to-six-month prior job experience (paid or volunteer), working with people with developmental disabilities. Must display a proven ability to work with individuals calmly and effectively with complex support needs and behaviors. Must display enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to be flexible in adapting to a varied schedule.
