Our Guest Relations Manager’s primary focus is building relationships with clients; they also play a very important internal role communicating within the management team, coordinating services between Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Programs departments to ensure the client experience is seamless. The Guest Relations Manager motivates and coaches the Guest Services agents, and possesses upbeat and professional skills in customer engagement.

Salary: $2000 – $2080

Term: Seasonal, full-time, March – November

Candidate Attributes: You enjoy working in a dynamic work environment and are passionate about providing exceptional customer service to guests. You have experience working in hospitality and tourism and have the leadership and communication skills necessary to train, mentor and supervise a small team of guest service agents. As part of the management team you are a role model for SPL’s mission and values amongst our guests and staff.

Responsibilities:

Supporting Staff, building a team that represents SPL’s values and bolsters guest experiences
Mentoring guest relations agents, working with them to warmly and accurately represent SPL
Overseeing the day to day operations of the office, supervising staff, ensuring that all guest-related tasks are handled efficiently
Turning inquirers into loyal guests
Helping potential guests along the path from dreaming and planning to booking and visiting, as well as sharing their experience here and returning as guests
Resolving special requests, concerns and complaints effectively
Working with wholesalers and groups
Working closely with our different client groups, including events and celebrations and shared interest groups, relationship building, preparing quotes, seeing group experiences through from inquiry to execution
Overseeing our small retail store – purchasing and ordering items consistent with SPL values
Night Audit and financial duties
Assist with payroll functions and daily/month-end accounting duties.
Ensure daily night audits balance and investigate any discrepancies. Maintain a working knowledge of social media, accounting and IT systems.

**We provide onsite accommodation options if needed. It is possible to commute from Campbell River or Gold River as well.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications/Competencies:

-Computer literacy, able to quickly learn our booking systems, work with spreadsheets, a working knowledge of social media, accounting and IT systems
-Experience in the tourism industry is an asset, diploma or degree in tourism or business preferred
-Strong communication skills, able to respond quickly and effectively in a dynamic environment
-Problem solving, team building, ethics and integrity
-Accountability, dependability, attention to detail, and quality control

Conditions: Successful completion of criminal record check and legal entitlement to work in Canada.
