THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you a certified trades person looking to join a “best in class” maintenance team? Western Forest Products is hiring for a Certified Electrician to join our Chemainus Sawmill Division located on Vancouver Island, BC!

What We Offer:
- These are USW unionized positions with a wage rate of $47.72/hour as per the collective agreement.
- Benefits and pension are provided through the union.
- Safe work environment.

Shifts:
Graveyard Monday – Friday 10:00pm – 6:00am

Note:
Shifts may vary depending on the requirements of the mill.

These positions are considered safety sensitive, all successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug test.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain, repair, upgrade and build a variety of electrical and pneumatic equipment
- Develop and maintain a robust electrical preventative maintenance plan
- Create technical reports, documentation, calculations and sketches
- Demonstrate proficiency with PLC and HMI programming and troubleshooting
- Develop, implement and document equipment and process improvement projects
- Report work compliance with relevant codes, standards and procedures
- Provide various electrical calculations
- Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment
- Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems
- Develop sustainable work relationships to ensure positive resolutions with all contacts
- Maintain up-to-date electrical engineering knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts
- Provide designs such items as cable tray layouts, electrical equipment arrangements, lighting layouts andLVsingle line diagrams
- Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings.

Qualifications & Experience
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Fully ticketed Red Seal Electrician (Industrial Electrician is preferred).
- Preference will be given to those with sawmill experience.
- Must have experience troubleshooting PLC’s, ControlLogix and industrial control systems.
