We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse with addiction treatment experience and Opiate Agonist Therapy (OAT) certification to join our team full-time. This role is integral to providing comprehensive care to our clients, supporting them through their recovery journeys with dignity and respect.
More specifically, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Client Care and Support
• Provide direct nursing care to clients, following the standards of the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, integrating traditional Indigenous healing with evidence-based Western medical practices.
• Administer medications, including OAT, ensuring safe handling, storage, and documentation in compliance with BCCNM standards.
• Facilitate client education in addiction management, health promotion, and self-care, utilizing a holistic approach aligned with client needs.
• Monitor and assess client health, addressing acute and chronic conditions, and ensure timely follow-up care.
Collaboration and Communication
• Work as part of a collaborative team of clinical and support staff, contributing to a respectful and cohesive care environment.
• Maintain accurate, confidential client records, and communicate relevant client updates and concerns to the clinical team.
• Participate actively in case reviews, care planning, and team meetings.
Communication Health and Education
• Promote health education within the community, supporting addiction prevention, harm reduction, and wellness programs.
• Advocate for clients’ self-determination in their health care journey, fostering a supportive environment for clients to express their needs.
Safety and Compliance
• Respond to medical emergencies and incidents, following established protocols.
• Uphold legal and ethical standards relating to consent, confidentiality, and professional conduct as outlined by BCCNM and relevant policies.
Cultural Competency
• Respect and demonstrate Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing in all interactions.
• Embrace cultural respect, relevance, reciprocity, and responsibility, continuously learning to model these values.
• Exhibit and practice cultural humility and reverence in all aspects of care.

About You
To qualify, you will need a degree, diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the addictions and mental health field.
