The role – As part of the Fleet Services team, you will be perform a wide variety of skilled tasks involved in the
preventative maintenance and repair of the City’s fleet of vehicles and equipment, including mechanical work on
specialized municipal or aviation support equipment. This position is also involved in the area of welding and
fabrication for the City. The work may be performed in both the shop and the field.

Qualifications & Experience
Our ideal candidate will have:
To complement your ITA Certification as Light-Duty or Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, Commercial Transport
Vehicle Mechanic or Automotive Service Technician or equivalent, you are also required to have:
• A valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Endorsement with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Minimum five (5) years recent and related experience as a journeyman mechanic in the repair and
maintenance of a variety of vehicles, machinery, equipment and small tools.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferably in construction and mechanical equipment.
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
The rate of pay for this Long Term, Auxiliary, CUPE bargaining unit position is $38.97 per hour working eight (8)
hours between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
