The BC RCMP 9-1-1 Police Dispatch Centre in Courtenay is a closely connected team of supportive individuals who are passionate about their career and who have a common purpose to help and protect others. What We Do
We answer emergency and non-emergency calls from the public who are reporting a crime and need police assistance. We quickly and accurately obtain all the information needed to assist the police in responding to the request for help.
Using state-of-the-art radio and computer technology, we dispatch our police officer to the scene. We function like an orchestra conductor responding to calls, coordinating police officers, and finding help when and where it is needed.

Contract (Full-time)
$64,265 - $86,007* Annual Salary
$32.85 - $43.96* Per Hour
*Rates of pay effective January 1, 2024
Qualifications & Experience
Must Haves:
• Canadian Citizenship or permanent resident status in Canada
• If applying for Courtenay Resided (been physically present) in Canada for the last 5 years. (Applicants may be considered if they have 4 years of residency.)
• You have a Canadian high school diploma or or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma.
• You are proficient in English

The following criteria are considered assets for the 9-1-1 Police Dispatcher position:
• Experience providing services to the public.
• Experience working in an environment that requires multitasking.
