Details:
The City of Campbell River is seeking Summer Students to work in our Parks Department. As part of the Parks team you will perform tasks assigned in the day to day operation of horticulture, arboriculture and parks maintenance. The main focus for this position will be working in the City gardens, green spaces, cemeteries and parks. You will perform the following activities: planting, transplanting, fertilizing, irrigating, cultivating, mulching, weeding, and basic pruning of shrubs and plants; fertilizing, tree ringing, and watering of trees, plants and shrubs; and cleanup of litter and debris.
The hourly rate of pay for this CUPE bargaining unit position is $20.96 working. This position working 8 hours per day, 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, until August 27, 2021.

You must have:
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s licence, and produce and maintain a clean driver’s abstract, as per City policy.
• Must be currently enrolled in a full-time curriculum of an accredited university or technical college for the 2021/2022 academic year (proof of full-time enrollment is required prior to start date).
