Shearwater Marine is looking for a primary Equipment Operator and Mechanic to join our shipyard team.
Shearwater is a small but self-sufficient company in the semi-remote location of Denny Island, close to Bella Bella. We have our own Restaurant Bar & Grill, Grocery & Liquor Store, Marine Hardware Store, and Laundry Facilities. Shearwater is one of the main hubs for Mariners on their way to and from Alaska & Haida Gwaii, and we also run our own seasonal fishing charters. Due to the variety of our business, we expect full-time work all year round.
The ideal candidate is someone who is seeking an opportunity in a semi-remote location on the beautiful Central Coast of BC. Subsidized housing is available between $200-$400/month (depending on the unit). Relocation costs from Vancouver or Vancouver Island is provided. This is a full-time permanent position so would be a relocation for the successful candidate.

We are seeking a talented and diverse Equipment Operator / Mechanic to run our wide range of machines and work on other projects throughout the resort.
Requirements:
- Well rounded and versatile Equipment Operator (equipment listed below)
- Shop equipment supplied, but own tools required
- Flexible and open to perform other tasks and duties as needed
- Asset: Class 1 with air brakes
- Asset: Can operate a crane with Cranesafe Certificate
- Asset: Experience living and working in a small town or remote area

- Excavators (Cat 235, Hitachi EX 220, Hitachi 135)
- Dozer (D8H Cat)
- S-200 Air Curtain Burner,
- Dump trucks (International, Pacific P10 Rock Truck)
- Yard Tractor (Ottawa)
- Loader (John Deer 544B)
- Cement Truck (Ford F9000)
- Crawler Crane (Lima)
- Tank Drill (Madill M4)
- 70T Marine Travel Lift
- Mobile screening plant
