Marine Parts Clerk

Shearwater Marine is looking for a Retail Store Associate/Cashier to work in our Marine Hardware Store.

Shearwater is a semi-remote Marine Resort located on Denny Island, close to Bella Bella. We have our own Restaurant Bar & Grill, Grocery & Liquor Store, Marine Hardware Store, and Laundry Facilities. Shearwater is one of the main hubs for Mariners on their way to and from Alaska & Haida Gwaii, and we also run our own seasonal fishing charters.

We are seeking an adventurous individual to work in our busy marine hardware store, assisting customers, filling parts orders from marine shop next door, placing orders, stocking shelves, cleaning, and other duties as assigned.

- Learning a lot about marine engine parts, boat parts and suppliers
- A fast paced retail business, start to finish
- Serving customers from every corner of the planet (summer months)
- Working with First Nations people, learning about their customs and culture
- Salt water sport fishing

The ideal candidate is someone who is seeking an opportunity in a semi-remote location on the beautiful Central Coast of BC. It is preferred if staff have their own RV or live-aboard boat, although subsidized housing can be arranged. Relocation costs from Vancouver or Vancouver Island is provided. This is a full-time permanent position.

Job Duties:
- Research and place special orders
- Assist marine techs in filling parts requests
- Update work orders, merchandise returns, warranties and fishing licenses
- Cashier, stocking, cleaning, propane, and customer service
