1 Full-Time ECE or ECEA Position (Individuals currently pursuing their certification will also be considered)
START DATE: January
LOCATION: Cheslakees Elementary School, Port McNeill.
WAGE: $20.00-$ 23.00 per hour based on Certification and Experience plus Applicable ECE Wage top up of $6.00 as of January 1st, 2024. NICSS offers a comprehensive

Summary:
North Island Community Services has a NEW fully licensed, 16 spot Group Childcare Centre, for children ages 30 months- 5 years. You will work under the supervision of the ECE-certified Manager. Our childcare program is designed to provide a fun, safe and child-centered learning environment for young children. We believe that every child is an individual, who deserves to be valued for their strengths, abilities, imagination, and interests. We want children to learn through play and developmentally appropriate activities. We recognize that parents play the most important role in their child’s life and that they deserve the assurance of knowing that their children are in a safe and nurturing environment, that also values the training, skill and commitment of its Early Childhood Educators.

Qualifications & Experience:
The Ideal Candidate will:
Know how to have fun and enjoy working with children ages 30 months- 5 years.
Exude a warm and approachable nature, with the ability to develop trust-based relationships with children and their parents/caregivers.
Have the ability to adapt and be flexible to meet the needs of the children and the childcare centre
Work as part of a team to develop and support programming and maintain schedules, as well as maintain records relating to childcare.
Promote age-appropriate learning that fosters social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
Work with parents and supported childcare or other community service providers to help children progress towards educational and behavioral goals.
Essential Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education (ECE or ECEA) Certification, or working towards it Approved Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Check
Level 1 First Aid w/CPR (or willing to obtain prior to start date)
