Details:
We are looking for two new accounting staff members: one junior level and one senior level.
The successful applicants will work in an open concept, ocean view accounting office at our waterfront processing facility located on Quadra Island, B.C. Many employees travel from Campbell River via the quick 10-minute ferry and a daily travel allowance is provided. BC Ferries is planning to add a second ferry to expand service to every 30 minutes. We are also trialing a blended remote/in-office model with one or two days per week remote so after sufficient training time this will likely be available to staff who are interested in it and can maintain productivity remotely.

Qualifications & Experience:
Junior level accounting role:
- 2+ years of relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Some post-secondary education in accounting fundamentals is preferred
- Previous hourly payroll experience would be highly beneficial and is preferred
- Practical experience using Excel functions such as pivot tables, lookups, etc will be very beneficial and will help make your work easier.
Senior level accounting role:
- 3+ years of progressive operational accounting experience is required
- Completion of or working towards accounting degree/designation is preferred
- Previous hourly payroll experience with complex labour costing allocations would be highly beneficial and is preferred
- Food processing, forestry, or other resource processing sector experience highly beneficial and preferred.
- Solid practical experience using Excel functions such as pivot tables, vlookups, etc will be critical to success in this role.
- Some mentorship experience would be beneficial as junior members will look to you for guidance.
