HSI – Home Structural Inc. is seeking applications for the receptionist / bookkeeping position. HSI is a busy structural engineering firm based in Campbell River BC that provides structural design and consulting engineering services throughout the central and north Vancouver Island. We provide services for the residential, commercial, and industrial building industry. This position is available immediately.
Receptionist/Bookkeeper
Key Responsibilities:
- Reception desk operation, greet and direct clients and visitors, answer phone calls and emails
- Schedule site inspections for clients, coordinate meetings with clients and / or consultants
- Prepare and handling of project documents (ie: letters, reports, copies, mailing, and delivery)
- Maintain administration computer station, keep software and drivers up to date
- Procure and maintain office supplies inventory
- Calculating and preparing payroll, project invoicing
- Accounts payable, accounts receivable postings, balancing bank statements and other reconciliations each month, T4's and R.O.E.’s as required
- Prepare and file payroll source deductions, corporate taxes, GST remittance, and WCB payments
- Prepare all documentation and records for submission to our corporate accountant for company year-end filing through our CPA
- Additional duties required for the office operation (ie: making coffee, daily sanitizing of the public areas, cleaning of the office kitchen area; counters, dishes, feeding and maintaining the fish tank in receptionist area etc.)

- Interviews with candidates will be scheduled quickly.
- Job is available with 1 week.
- Job specific training for position is available.
- We are a busy company but still have a very casual work environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Personal Skill Requirements:
- Should have at least 5 years experience in reception and/or bookkeeping but we also value and recognize level of skill as well.
- An outgoing personality, be professional, and a positive representative of our company
- Be punctual and have excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail with all aspects of work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of SAGE (Simply Accounting software), Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Email software. Keep an organized digital filing system
- Advance and improve current administrative processes
- High School graduation with post-secondary education in bookkeeping or accounting
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping
- Possess a class 5 drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
