Working within the Timberlands Finance Team, the Accountant plays a pivotal role in supporting the Operations, Logistics and Sales groups with analytics and reporting, as well as day to day and period close transactional accounting. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintaining financial system accounts, reconciling accounts and intercompany accounting activities
Supporting Monthly reporting requirements and variance commentary
Conducting financial analysis as required
Supporting annual audit processes
Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting processes and
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives with analysis, and report development
Qualifications & Experience:
Professional accounting designation or currently enrolled in an associated program
Strong understanding of general cost accounting concepts
High level of professionalism
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
Proficiency in operations systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX, 3Log LIMS and Cobblestone is preferred but not required and
Forestry and/or accounting experience is preferred but not required
