Details:
Forest road, bridge and culvert inspecting, planning, maintaining, project managing and supervising;
Log yard inspecting, planning, maintaining, installing, project managing and supervising;
Working with and leading staff and professional consultants to develop and implement solutions;
Managing contractors and suppliers to meet business goals;
Assisting the Operations team with short-term and long-term operational planning, annual budgeting, contract management systems, negotiating rates, and resolving operational issues;
Maintaining and fostering good relationships with First Nations, government agencies, and industry players to preserve and enhance the Company’s position within the industry and the overall community; and
Providing vacation relief coverage for Contract Managers.
The Infrastructure Planner is a safety sensitive position.
Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years of related operational forestry experience.
Accreditation with the ABCFP as a Registered Professional Forester or a Registered Forest Technologist, or eligible to apply for accreditation.
Valid BC Driver’s Licence.
Demonstrated ability to lead people and work effectively in team environments.
Demonstrated leadership capacity in safety and environmental stewardship.
Able to meet the demands of walking in difficult forest terrain and construction sites on a regular basis.
Aptitude in Microsoft, ROADENG, GIS, LIDAR, GPS, ARCMAP based mapping and other evolving computer applications is preferred but not required.
Ability to self-direct and effectively organize, plan work and prioritize resources to deliver divisional and departmental plans and activities.
Superior interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Action and results oriented.
