THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Campbell River, BC.
What You’ll Do: An integral part of the corporate finance team, the Accounting Clerk will perform journal entries, account reconciliations and handle accounts payable. You will be involved with weekly and monthly reporting, distribution cost improvements, and performance tracking of various projects. As our processes are being continuously perfected, you will play an important role in the transition of systems and increasing the efficiency of reporting. You will be spending a lot of time working with formulas on Excel, Boomstick and D365 Coding.
Who You Are: This is a valuable growth opportunity for a CPA candidate to work alongside an experienced team in the complex manufacturing environment. You will already have completed cost accounting and management accounting courses as part of your accounting degree or program. You will also come with 1-2 years of working accounting experience, ideally in a large corporate setting. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, always up for a challenge and can be assertive in ensuring all accounting process are followed consistently.
Work Environment: This position is currently remote/work-from-home while we work towards a hybrid (remote and in-office) work environment for the long term.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Month-end journal entries and balance sheet and sub ledger reconciliations;
-Weekly and monthly reporting;
-Prepare ad hoc reports for management as needed;
-Support Division Controller with tracking performance of various projects and KPIs, and optimization analysis;
-Log sales/purchase invoicing in LIMS;
-Boom releases;
-Reconcile and enter manual adjustments in LIMS for boomsticks & gear inventories;
-Generate LIMs batches;
-External Reporting to the Ministry of Forests;
-Update LIMS with all monthly log market and boomstick prices;
-Create monthly journal entry for physical count results on boomsticks and gear; and
-Other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:
Education and Experience
-University degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration;
-Pursuing the CPA designation; and
-1-2 years of experience in a Finance Intern, Co-op or Accounting Clerk role.
