Details:
Job consists of using a tug and barge as transportation, workshop, and living quarters. Most of the work is maintained to building and disassembling of fish farms, dock work and anchoring . Working alongside the crane to deal with a large amount of the work, listening and following orders is top priority. As well as consistent and ongoing maintenance to the tug, crane, and barge.
We are looking for someone with attention to detail, that is high quality listener with a go getter attitude. You must be able to think for yourself well following detailed instructions.
Upkeep and cleanliness of the boat and barge is a must. This includes general bathroom and kitchen duties, including but not limited to cooking and food inventory, switching on and off with the other deckhand.
***This is 100% a dry boat, no drugs or alcohol are allowed on shift and employees may be subject to random drug testing for illegal substance.***
Qualifications & Experience:
SVOP Certificate, valid MED, ROC and Marine Basic First Aid certificates are required along with boat experience and construction work or similar field type.
There is room for advancement with, rigging courses and tug tickets, for the right candidates.
This is a long-term, full-time position, with a tight nit crew. Working and staying on the boat in close quarters we are looking to build a team atmosphere.
Currently shifts run roughly 15 days on and 5 days off; on call maybe required mostly in the wintertime due to weather. Living quarters and food are supplied well on the boat
