The Marketing Assistant is a key role on our team and the incumbent will assist with Chamber and Visitor Centre marketing and communications activities. The job entails writing and publishing tourism blogs, producing a small library of virtual tours and creating great content for our website and social media platforms. The job will involve travelling around our community to interview and photograph tourism businesses and experiencing and filming actual tours. Front-line visitor services will be part of the role in order to share ideas and to stay engaged with the visitor services team. The marketing assistant will also work on Chamber events like the Annual Pumpkin Patch Walk.
This seasonal position will be 27 hours (4 days) per week starting August 22 and ending November 4.
The Chamber will supply the necessary tools and devices to be successful in the job.
Qualifications & Experience:
This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs for qualified applicants under the age of 30 years.
Skills and Attributes
Proficient with computers (MS Office Suite) social media and email.
Verbal and written communication skills
A professional and polite demeanor
Flair for video and photography
Outgoing and self motivated
Access to a vehicle is an asset
Be available to work weekends & holiday, and occasional evenings for events and other activities.
Successful completion of the Destination BC Certified Visitor Counsellor training program is required and will be provided by the Chamber.
