For over thirty years Noboco Styro Containers Ltd has been a leading manufacturer of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Styro Packaging for the seafood industry based in Campbell River BC. We would like you to consider an opening to join our operations team. Employees are the most important asset in any business and we are very proud of our dedicated and diverse team, with close to 70% of our employees in the 5 to 20+ years of long term service. Our employees work with highly specialized equipment built to manufacture and package an industry specific Styro box.
Hours of work: Shift work as scheduled. Rotating - 2 weeks on dayshift, then 2 weeks on graveyards followed by 2 weeks on afternoons
Wages and benefits:
• Wage rate: $16.83 - $18.57 based on experience.
• Shift differential is also offered at $0.50 per hour for afternoon shift and $ 1.50 per hour for Graveyards
• Annual 10% of gross wages paid for RRSP contribution
• Dental and Extended health benefits will apply after serving the required waiting period.
• All employees will receive training for their positions and there is advancement opportunity to technical positions.
Attire: Observe all safety standards for this industry and the job performed. Steel toe footwear, hearing protection, eye protection clean shop coat and appropriate trousers.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications:
• Fluent in the English language – able to understand, speak, read and write English.
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Maintain steady pace of physical work that requires agility, coordination as required.
• Ability to pass in house skills testing, reference checks and interview.
• Basic math.
• A level of physical fitness that allows the successful candidate to safety work in a production environment on their feet for most of the day handling loads ranging for 5 Kgs to 20 Kgs.
• A level of personal hygiene for working in the food packaging industry.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and safety follow the workplace instructions.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible to follow all company policies and procedures including WorkSafeBC safety programs.
• Responsible for inspecting and packaging our products to prepare for shipment as per quality standards while working on pace within target cycle times,
• Complete in house training to have knowledge of the operation of the process involved in manufacturing EPS products.
• Fulfill duties as required by the Environmental and Quality Management System
• Operate all equipment as instructed in a safe and efficient manner.
• Report any irregularities with the operation of all equipment.
