- The Campbell River & District Association for Community Living (CRADACL) is a “registered charity” providing programs and services to people with developmental disabilities in the Campbell River & surrounding area.
- Full-time, Part-time and Casual positions are available in Campbell River and the Comox Valley with various 8 hour shifts and rotation.
- The Residential Care Worker works as a member of a team responsible for assisting the residents with the activities of daily living and to provide opportunities to promote independence and self-esteem. The Residential Care Worker is responsible for introducing and implementing ideas and activities that will increase the resident’s independence and social skills. Positions are available in a day/afternoon rotation or just overnights.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities
• Responds to all personal care requirements regarding each resident.
• Communicates changes to resident’s health, needs and/or living conditions.
• Administers medications and records medication dispensing information in accordance with established protocols.
• Provides each resident with socialization and life skills training, and acts as a role model for acceptable and appropriate behavior.
• Participates in program planning, development and implementation for each resident.
• Performs administrative duties including but not limited to, writing in and reviewing activities in daily log books, expense recording and preparing log books for the next month, recording in communication books and medical/dental log books, maintaining and updating resident's files.
• Follows directions in Health Care Plans, and all Physicians’ orders regarding each resident.
• Completes cleaning and laundry tasks on a daily basis maintaining all health and safety standards.
• Participates with all residents in all scheduled activities including swimming.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Certification in Community Support Worker, Residential Care Attendant or equivalent certification in a relevant field preferred.
• 3 - 6 month’s prior job related experience working with people with developmental disabilities (paid or volunteer).
• Must display an understanding and ability to work with individuals with mental disability and complex care needs.
• Standard First Aid - Industry and CPR
• Class 4 BC Driver’s License – (At least Class 5 at time of hiring)
• Food Safe Certification
• Consent to a Criminal Record Check
• Negative Tuberculin Test
• Physician’s Approval
