North Island College is seeking a regular faculty member to provide instruction for Electrical Apprenticeship and Foundation Harmonized programs at our Campbell River Campus. Responsibilities include teaching pre-apprentice students to provincial outcomes and standards as established for the pre-apprentice program, as well as teaching apprentices in technical training classes. Program delivery may involve various degrees of online and face-to-face instruction. Other responsibilities include program development and lesson planning, tool and equipment maintenance, and liaison with regional employers.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Journeyperson Interprovincial Qualification in Electrical (Red Seal);
- Certificate of Apprenticeship;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a journeyperson working on a broad range of construction projects (mix of residential, commercial and industrial);
- Previous, recent experience instructing electrical foundation and apprenticeship technical training;
- Completion of the Provincial Instructors Diploma program.
- Familiarity with the Construction Electrician program outlines;
- Experience setting up training programs;
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
- Proficiency with learning technologies and digital tools;
- Demonstrated excellent instructional abilities, using creative and motivating approaches to stimulate learning, including the use of instructional technologies within an online learning environment;
- Experience with blended learning, ability to build online theory components in a learning platform, ability to translate face-to-face content delivery;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize, and efficiently meet deadlines;
- A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work both individually and cooperatively in a team environment with online faculty, coordinators, online student groups, employers and staff.
