Details:
NIC is seeking a Work Study Assistant to work collaboratively with the Department Chair and Instructors of the Employment Transition/Grounds & Custodial Assistant program – a program specifically designed to meet the needs of individuals with barriers to learning. The Work Study Assistant will be responsible for organizing and facilitating work experience practicum’s, provision of support in classroom settings when required; This 60% position may be filled by more than one applicant
Qualifications & Experience:
Human Service Worker Diploma or equivalent education;
Minimum of two years of work experience supporting individuals with learning barriers
1. Familiarity with current labour market conditions and local community businesses and resources.
2. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
3. Ability to compose correspondence and reports using current MS Office programs.
4. Possess a valid BC driver’s license with access to a vehicle for work related functions.
5. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision; establish priorities and work under pressure.
6. Knowledge of current Work Safe, health and safety practices and procedures, and Employment Standards Act.
7. Familiarity with current technologies to support students’ remote learning.
8. A current criminal record check
