Our Head Start Program is looking for a casual/on-call/substitute cook!
This position is ideal for someone who is hard-working, reliable, organized, and enjoys cooking nutritional meals for children. You are largely self-directed, have excellent interpersonal/communication skills, are a team player, and able to work flexible schedules.
And above all…our ideal candidate cooks/prepares delicious meals that appeal to kids!
Term: Casual, On-Call
Compensation: TBD
Competition Closes: Open until filled – position to start as soon as possible
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Menu planning
• Food preparation/processing
• Cooking
• Plate preparation
• Kitchen maintenance/cleaning/sanitizing
• Adherence to all WorkSafe regulations & safe food practices/protocols
• Following all food safety requirements/regulations
• Adhering to the all Covid-19 safety protocols and practices
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Start Coordinator
Qualifications & Experience:
• Cooking experience
• Food Safe Certificate
• Able to communicate clearly and respectfully
• Knowledge of the Kwakiutl traditions, practices & culture
• Organized, flexible & willing to pitch-in
• Successful vulnerable criminal record check is mandatory
