Details:
The Accounting Assistant will work for a busy seafood processing and sales company and will have the ability to perform accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing functions as needed. They will work with our Managers to record financial transactions in an efficient and timely manner and provide reports and support as needed.
Work Site Location:
The successful applicant will work at our processing facility located at #1 Walcan Road on Quadra Island, B.C. Applicants who reside on Quadra Island are preferred but a travel allowance is provided for those commuting from Campbell River.
Qualifications & Experience:
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum completion of two years accounting studies or 4 yrs accounting experience
• Minimum 2 years accounting experience in the areas of responsibility is required
• Post secondary education in accounting is preferred
• Excellent intermediate level Excel skills are required
• Experience with purchasing and supply management is highly valued
• Proficiency with other MS Office and Teams applications
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Self motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written English communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as independently
• Available to work overtime when necessary
