Campbell River Seniors Information Hub Coordinator at Volunteer Campbell River , approximately 20 hours per week starting August 2020 with current funding until spring 2021.
The CR Seniors Hub is currently being developed with plans to open in Spring, 2021. The Hub is designed to be a one-stop, easy-to-access, reliable and friendly service to assist seniors, their families and caregivers with their information needs about services and resources in Campbell River, and learning how to navigate health and social service systems. The day-to-day duties of information sharing and support will be provided by volunteers, under the supervision and with the support of the Hub Coordinator. The Coordinator will participate in building the Hub and then maintain operations, including keeping information current and accurate, recruiting and supporting volunteers, and engaging with partners to ensure the Hub is fully accessible to seniors and their caregivers once it is open to the public.
Duties and Responsibilities: Set up of Hub office, and purchase and maintenance of Hub furnishings, equipment and supplies, Recruit, supervise and support Hub service providers, Prepare and maintain documentation and statistics of Hub services, Ensure the quality and continual improvement of Hub services, Promote Hub services
Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills, Excellent organizational, priority setting, and problem-solving skills, Excellent research and analysis skills, Ability to use sound judgement, and maintain discretion and confidentiality, Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively, and to delegate appropriately, Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, data management, email, video conferencing, the Internet, social media, and document design.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education, Knowledge and Experience
Post-secondary degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience, Knowledge of local seniors’/elders’ issues and priorities, Knowledge of Campbell River senior/elder-serving organizations and coalitions, Experience in recruiting, training and supporting volunteers in a community service setting, Experience in risk assessment and crisis management, Experience in building and maintaining productive partnerships.
