Women’s SAFE Shelter Outreach Support Worker
This rewarding and challenging pilot project focuses on providing significant supports to women once they have left the SAFE Shelter, in order that women (and their children) are able to:
access safe, affordable short-term housing
develop the capacity and skills to become independent after leaving domestic violence
work towards the long term goal of helping women move to independent, safe, and affordable long-term housing of their choice.
The Outreach Support Worker will also collect data on various aspects of housing for women and children, as well as identify challenges and barriers.
The SAFE Shelter Outreach Support Worker will work closely with the SAFE Shelter Coordinator and other staff.
Hours per week are negotiable; it is expected that this position could last up to 5 months.
